Low Rate Balance Transfer For 24 Months
Posted on April 11th, 2011 No commentsThere are plenty of opportunities for consumers to decrease the size of their credit card debt, such as making large monthly repayments, arranging personal loans, and even accepting aid from friends and family members. Nevertheless, balance transfer credit cards remain the favourite and most convenient method for card users to manage existing debt. Balance transfer cards enable borrowers to transfer multiple credit card debts onto one single low rate credit card.
There are so many balance transfer credit cards on the market that consumers may have a difficult time finding the best card to meet their needs. The Western City Credit Union MasterCard offers borrowers an outstanding offer of 4.9% for 24 months. Subsequently, users can transfer their existing credit card debt, which is likely to be accruing interest of 15% or more, to the new card, and only pay 4.9% for two years.
The objective should, of course, be to repay the entire balance within the first 24 months, or face a higher interest rate. If users continue to make the same repayments, however, they will still be paying the debt off faster with the new card, as a lower interest rate ensures more of the funds are repaid to the principal of the debt.
There are a number of additional benefits that borrowers can reap from the card. Primarily, they have the choice of two cards, both offering the same low balance transfer rate; the MyGold and Silver credit card. Both cards offer 55 days interest free after each purchase, so users who pay their entire balance back within the period can use them without incurring any additional costs. Customers can also opt to enter the rewards program in which they will earn 1 point for every $1 spent. Once accumulated, a series of rewards may be recouped with the Silver Card, such as cash back, shopping vouchers at stores such as Myers and David Jones, electronics and additional gifts.
If borrowers value a vacation several times a year, they can always upgrade to the MyGold card. The Qantas rewards program accompanies the MyGold card, and points are automatically transferred to the customer’s Qantas Frequent Flyer account. This means, of course, that users can spend to earn free flights and immense discounts on travel. Furthermore, points accumulated at Western City never expire, so borrowers are not required to spend excessively to earn points.
Users should, of course, expect to pay an annual fee for either of the cards. The Gold card incurs an annual fee of $85 and the Silver fee is $45.
The Western City credit cards provide borrowers with an affordable opportunity to work their way out of credit card debt at a low rate and choice. Borrowers can also choose between the Gold and Silver card, both of which encompass different features to allow them to earn the most of their cards.
