  • Where to Find ANZ’s 18 Month Balance Transfer Offer

Posted on January 12th, 2011 admin No comments

Credit card users with unmanageable debt can soon be on the road to successful credit card management with ANZ’s new balance transfer offer.  The ANZ balance transfer offer allows credit card users to transfer debt from other non-ANZ credit cards or store cards to an ANZ credit card, while benefiting from an extremely low rate of 2.9% p.a. for 18 months.

low rate for an extended period is sure to be appreciated by thousands, but possibly the greatest aspect of this offer is the flexibility. The offer is valid with any of the following three ANZ credit cards:

ANZ First Visa – a low annual fee ($20), no frills credit card including a 44 day interest free period.

ANZ Low rate – an extremely low rate card, with an annual fee of $58, including a 55 day interest free period.

ANZ Balance Visa – a card with low interest on purchases, a $79 annual fee and a 55 day interest free period.

Just with any other financial product , customers are advised to read the small print of the credit card agreement. Applicants will discover they have until March 19th 2011 to apply for this offer , which is only eligible for applicants transferring from a non-ANZ credit card (or account). The introductory period begins as soon as the credit card is open and not from the date of the balance transfer. Upon the conclusion of the 18 month introductory offer, any remaining balances left unpaid will be subject to a higher interest rate (the rate applied will revert to the current standard purchase rate).

Balance transfers made towards the ANZ Balance Visa will be subject to a transfer fee, not to exceed 1% of the balance transferred.  Credit card holders can avoid the transfer fee by making the transfer request at the time of the original card application.

To receive the full benefit of all of the interest free days available on each ANZ credit card, customers must pay their balance in full each month by the due date each month. This includes cash advances, balance transfers, and purchases. Consequently card holders with an outstanding debt on their credit card (from a balance transfer) will likely not enjoy the perks of an interest free period on purchases, as this debt usually takes a number of periods to pay it back in its entirety.
